GRP China‑Italy Design Golden Finger Award | The first stop of the 2026 Urban Private Banquet, in Shenyang, is about to kick off!

The GRP China–Italy Design Golden Finger Award—part of the China–Italy Outstanding Design Exchange Program—is presented by a jury composed of leading figures from prestigious design organizations and seasoned design experts from both China and Italy. Each year, the award recognizes exceptional projects and emerging designers in spatial fields such as retail, residential, office, and hospitality design, while also leveraging… Italian Design for China (IID For China) Together with Guangzhou Design Week’s global operations and promotion network, we have established exchange centers in key cities across China and Italy, organized worldwide roadshows and a series of events, and, while fostering cultural and design exchanges between the two countries, we are also helping Chinese and Italian designers achieve greater integration and mutual recognition on the global stage.

Italian Design for China (IID For China) As the first platform dedicated to fostering collaboration and mutual exchange between Italian and Chinese interior design, it aims to provide channels and build bridges for design cooperation and dialogue between the two countries—bringing more Italian designs to China and helping Chinese consumers discover and appreciate Italian design. At the same time, it seeks to enable China to partner with Italy’s leading designers and design firms through diverse collaborative models, establishing long-term, stable mechanisms that strengthen exchanges between Chinese and Italian design communities. By doing so, it aspires to advance the joint development of cultural and design cooperation between China and Italy, transforming this initiative into a premier forum for artistic exchange and collaboration in the fields of design.

In 2007, Guangzhou Design Week became the only platform in China to receive certification from the three major international design organizations—IFI, ICSID, and ICOGRADA—and launched a global outreach initiative. To date, it has collaborated with embassies and institutions in more than 40 countries, hosting international events such as “Italian Design Night” and “Danish Design Exchange Day,” while also regularly bringing Chinese designers to prestigious international forums like the Milan Furniture Fair and the IFI Global Congress. In 2019, it initiated the “China of the World” international festival, which toured Milan and Montreal, drawing widespread global attention.

Since 2007, Guangzhou Design Week has collaborated with design organizations from multiple countries to launch initiatives such as the “G+AWARDS,” the “BDA Bauhaus Modern Design Award,” and the “GRP China–Italy Golden Finger Award,” fostering the integration of Chinese and international design. In 2024, in partnership with Lishui—the largest overseas Chinese hometown in China—and leveraging its network of 473,000 overseas Chinese and design resources spanning more than 40 countries worldwide, it launched the “China Design Goes Global Program (GBC),” further expanding its international influence.

At present, Guangzhou Design Week’s international partnership network spans nearly 40 countries and regions.

An excellent designer is a lover of this planet.

They should receive something that symbolizes love. Golden Finger Award

A distinctive golden ring will serve as the official emblem of the China–Italy Design Golden Ring Award, presented to outstanding designers who have distinguished themselves. The ring’s design is inspired by “The Galaxy‑K,” a series of works created by Mr. Wang Kaifang, a leading contemporary artist, architect, and designer renowned for his interdisciplinary thinking and profound influence in China.

“Gold is a mysterious substance from the depths of the universe, imbued with wondrous energy that drives humanity’s evolution.” In Wang Kaifang’s “Galaxy‑K” series, ranging from urban sculptures to jewelry, he articulates a contemporary Eastern cosmology that bridges the macro and the micro, matter and consciousness, the interconnectedness of all things, and the unity of heaven and humanity. Through the integration of cutting-edge technologies, his works evoke an aura of mystery and wonder, while also serving as symbols of human will and conviction.
